#Local Government
Target:
The City of Charles Sturt Council and Councillor's
Region:
Australia

1. STOP the building of a (timber/wire & handrail 1.3 m) FENCE along the Coastal Path - between Henley Beach Road and Gilmore St on the Esplanade, Henley Beach South and stop WASTING $75000 of taxpayers money without a comprehensive analysis of the issues and consultation with the community. We don't want our beaches fenced off!! Keep them natural, open and beautiful.

2. The Charles Sturt Council has only consulted 47 resident of Henley Beach South. The Coastal Path and beach is public open space for all the community across Adelaide and visitors to enjoy. The Council has not communicated openly and consulted you about your views! We demand the Charles Sturt Council do their due diligence, engage the community about their views and solutions and come up with the best possible strategy of dune management and revegetation. While maintaining the natural, open, uninterrupted AMENTITY and the AESTHETIC VALUE of the Coastline to the COMMUNITY along the Coastal Path between Henley Bch Rd and Gilmore St, Henley Beach South.

We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens who urge our Charles Sturt Council leaders to act now to:

1. RESCIND a Decision by the Charles Sturt Council to build a 1.3m FENCE ALONG THE COASTAL PATH and;

2. TO RESOURCE adequately a comprehensive Project to fully investigate & verify - the problems, causes and solutions at Henley Beach South. The AIM of the project would be to preserve the beach, dunes and coastal path for now and future generations and to fully engage and consult with the Community to identify and resolve these issues.
