Polycystic ovary syndrome is a disease that effects between 5-10 million women worldwide.

I'm 23 years old. I was diagnosed when I was 21 with PCOS. It took 3 different doctors to diagnose me with PCOS. If the doctors were better trained and had more knowledge of PCOS I could have recieved treatment early. On another note, until I was diagnosed with PCOS I had never heard of it.

I was told time and time again about AIDS, cancer, diabetes, and other diseases that plague humanity, but the one disease I had a very good chance of having, PCOS, I had never heard of.

We, the undersigned, would like for the Government of the United States to work towards raising awareness for Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) as they would for cancer, AIDS, and other life altering and sometimes life ending diseases.

Research shows that between 5-30% of women have PCOS. PCOS can lead to cancers and can cause physical and psychological damage. PCOS can lead to obesity and diabetes.

By putting money towards research and PCOS awareness, we may be able to reduce the number of women who are affected by PCOS or if not reduce help women with PCOS deal with the burden this disease causes.

Most women between the ages of 16-35, have no clue they are at risk for PCOS, nor do they know what PCOS is. That is why I'm fighting for better awareness campaigns.

Thank you
