PARENTS AND FRIENDS, YOU DO NOT NEED TO SIGN THIS PETITION ANY MORE. THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION HAS PUT A STOP TO THE TRANSFER OF THE MONEY SOUGHT FOR BY THE BOARD OF GOVERNORS (BOG) FROM THE PIBG. THE BOG IN FACT DOES NOT HAVE A LOCUS STANDI IN SJK (C).
ALTHOUGH FOR A SECOND TIME, THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION HAS GIVEN ITS VERDICT ON THE MATTER OF TRANSFER OF RM300,000 FROM PIBG TO THE BOG, AND THIS ISSUE SHOULD BE SETTLED SOON, WE WELCOME MORE PARENTS OF SJK (C) TO UNDERSTAND THE PROBLEMS PLAGUING THE CHINESE SCHOOLS.

In the March 2017 AGM, the headmistress of Puay Chai 2 as Advisor of the PIBG tabled a motion to transfer a sum of RM300,000 from PIBG fund to the Board of Governors (BOG), headed by Tan Sri Teo Chiang Kok.
Although some parents wanted this motion to be debated, the headmistress did not allow voices of dissent; instead, she asked parents to trust her and let this money to be transferred to the building fund to build the sports arena.
She claimed that the construction cost has been revised from some RM1 million to RM2 million. Her rationale is that the building is for the good of the school and the children without taking into consideration that the fund belonging to PIBG should be used for PIBG activities and not BOG's building funds.
The role of BOG when they decided to contribute back to the school is to raise funds from among their own network of businessmen instead of taking it from parents' hard-earned money. This, after all, is the original role of any BOG in SJK(C) schools. I am sure that RM300,000 is no big sum of money to Teo, especially if the building is going to be named after his late father.
A parent who had attended the AGM had also written to the Ministry of Education on March 6, 2017 that he strong objected against the transfer of RM300,000 after some RM1.2 million had been transferred since 2013 to Board of Governors. Until today, stern action has not been carried out yet by the ministry. We therefore urge the ministry to step in to put a stop and put in black and white that such transfer is illegal.
Please sign if you are a member of Puay Chai 2 PIBG member.. Every parent is a member of PIBG. If you are not members, you can also sign to show your support so that we can stop the BOG from treating the PIBG and parents as an easy source of income for their fundraising.
We demand:
(1) The PIBG committee does not transfer even a single sen from now onto the BOG and it should not be used anymore by the BOG to raise funds through parents' own contributions
(2) Headmistress should no longer push for the transfer of the PIBG funds to BOG.
(3) The Ministry of Education should immediately step in to put a stop to this in black and white, and make any transfer automatically criminal breach of trust.
(4) The Board of Governors of Puay Chai 2 to immediately stop asking for transfer of even a single sen from PIBG to BOG's account.
