On total fire ban days, people evacuate their homes and properties, most of these homes have pets. These pets are problematic and restrict people's ability to evacuate due to the restrictions on where to shelter and wait out the fire threats.
Livestock can not always be moved, but dogs, cats and other small animals are easily transported along with fleeing residence.
I think these pets should be allowed to shelter in public buildings like shopping malls, please support my partition to make legislation to allow this.
I ask local Government and the RSPCA to allow small pets to shelter in public buildings such as shopping malls, workplaces, cinemas, libraries etc... on total fire ban days.
All animals shall be controlled by owners at all times.
