Apex Clean Energy has proposed to build high energy transmission lines from the west (Spencerville/Van Wert County Line) along the railroad to Kemp Road where it will turn south and eventually cut across the land to a substation on Sellers Road in Shawnee Township.

These lines will be 80-100 feet high and sit on concrete bases, holding 5 electric lines so powerful they can't be buried. They make a constant "humming" sound. There are studies which link them to several health issues.

The Port Authority of Allen County is the group that owns the railroad and will vote on this. In return for the easement they will receive $700,000. No one was notified of this happening, if it wasn't for a letter written to the Lima News it would be virtually unknown.

These high energy transmission lines will also affect out home values, decreasing them 10-30%.

We must stand together as a community to stop this.

We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens and neighbors who urge the Port Authority of Allen County and the Ohio Power Siting Board to vote "No" on the proposed Long Prairie Wind energy project transmission lines.

The Petition to Stop the Construction of High Energy Transmission Lines petition to Port Authority / Ohio Power Siting Board was written by Stephanie Rose and is in the category Environment at GoPetition.
