#Telecommunications tower
Target:
City Of Winnipeg Planning and Developement Department or Other
Region:
Canada

1. Potential health effects: no conclusive evidence either way on the long term effects to the radiation. Safety code 6 can be amended at any time which potentially might be too late.

2. Reduced property value: cell towers de-value neighbourhoods. Preconceived notions on living near one will bring the property value down.

3. Visual pollution: no one wants to see a 60 ft structure amongst the trees. It doesn't fit with the style of the homes around it.

4. A growing tower: 60 ft might not be enough. Telecommunication towers can grow over time.

5. Other locations: MTS have investigated other non residential spots but preffer this one.

6. Last chance: it is easier to stop a tower from going up than for it to be removed.

We, the undersigned, oppose the current proposed location of a cell tower at 413 Niagara Street in Winnipeg Manitoba.

No cell towers should be placed or erected near homes. The current proposed location is only a few feet away from the nearest residence.

This location contravenes the City of Winnipeg’s own antenna siting policy, which advises that a new antenna should be a minimum of three times the height of the antenna away from residential areas.

The Petition to STOP MTS cell tower from being placed at 413 Niagara petition to City Of Winnipeg Planning and Developement Department or Other was written by Rachel Larkins and is in the category Miscellaneous at GoPetition.
