Dear Sir,

PETITION TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF HUAREN HOLDINGS SDN BHD (“HUAREN”) IN CONNECTION WITH STATUS OF ASSETS AND DIVIDEND PAYMENTS HELD ON TRUST FOR MCA AND ITS MEMBERS

We, the undersigned, being members of the Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA) would like to seek the following clarification on the status of assets and dividend payments held on trust by the shareholders of Huaren for the beneficiaries i.e. MCA and its members:-

1. The list of assets held by Huaren detailing value, manner held and historical record of dividends paid including the dividends paid by Star Publications (Malaysia) Berhad (“Star Publication”);

2. Whether Huaren has been paying dividends to MCA, and if so, please provide details of such payments;

3. If Huaren has not paid any dividends or has paid minimal dividends to MCA, the reasons for such non-payments or low payments as the case may be;

4. What is the current financial position of Huaren in terms of cashflow and bank balances and the expected dividends payments from its various investments?;

5. Whether Huaren sold Star Publications to MCA, and if so, the reasons and justification for such sale, the sale price, date of transfer, name of transferee and status of dividends due from Star Publications;

We further confirm that the firm of solicitors nominated by Tan Sri Lee Kim Tiong @ Lee Kim Yew will be authorised to act on our behalf.
