For 10 years, we boarded dogs in our home in Glenview, Il. We recently moved to St.John to be closer to local family members and want to continue to provide this service in this great community. Peace of Mind Pet Services had over 200 5 star reviews on Rover.com. We love dogs and this business has allowed us to do something we love, while providing us with much needed income. Our business is covered by dog boarding insurance and we have always paid federal and state self employment taxes. We were initially unaware of any ordinances prohibiting this in-home business, but once we were made aware, we began taking the steps that will allow us to obtain a business license and dog boarding permit. We will be in front of the Board of Zoning Appeals on July, 18, 2022 at the Town Hall and would welcome your support in person at the meeting and/or signing this petition in favor. Please sign this position to support our use variance application with the Town of St. John, IN. We are applying for a use variance to run a small in-home dog boarding business. This would allow us to board up to five dogs in a family living environment. We do not crate dogs unless they are crated at home. They live with us for their stay, typically at least 5 days, in a small pack-like environment. They will have group play in our yard and sleep in our home. We weed out aggressive and barking dogs to the best of out ability. We will not alter our home or yard to accommodate this business.
