PETITION TO HOLD A SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING OF THE LICENSED TAXI DRIVERS ASSOCIATION LIMITED known as the “LTDA “ Registered Office Taxi House, 9 – 11 Woodfield Road, London W9 .
TO CALL FOR A VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE IN THE CURRENT COUNCIL of MANAGEMENT (CoM)

Following on from the Uber court case in June 2018 where Uber were given a new license, there are many drivers asking – “WHAT DO THE LTDA ACTUALLY DO FOR US?”

As the largest taxi trade association, shouldn’t the LTDA be far more proactive in representing us?

There have been numerous failures, notably:

Uber

Bank Junction, Torrington Place, Tottenham Court Road and Oxford Street

The Meter Case

Number of PHV’s (120,000 no cap)

Congestion charge for PHV’s

Cycle Super Highway

Rickshaws

15-year age cap on taxis

Transport for London

The list just continues…….

In the past two years the LTDA Council of Management (CoM) have shut down one and suspended the remaining Green Badge Branch (Central). It is now impossible for Green Badge Members to attend Branch Meetings with the effect that you, as Green Badge members, are unable to have a collective say in how the LTDA is run. In turn, this has now prevented any new members being eligible to qualify for elections to the CoM and has effectively created a closed shop for those members already on the CoM. - WHY?.

The Central Branch have questioned practices by the CoM and LTDA over many years. These include:

The LTDA not carrying out their duties to protect and develop the jobs of its members to the best of its ability.

Suspected Accounting Irregularities. Members have asked for DETAILED BREAKDOWN AND CLOSURE OF LTDA ENTERPRISES but have been denied.

Rules of the LTDA are not being followed correctly. CoM members are not showing their actual contribution to the running of the LTDA and justification of their personal place on the Council of Management at the LTDA.

On the 20th June 2018, the LTDA sent an email to members giving notice of the immediate suspension of the Central Branch. As a result, Green Badge LTDA members no longer have a forum to discuss and suggest ideas to the CoM. Matters raised by Central Branch, including those from the above list, have, in the past, routinely been dismissed by the CoM.

This petition is asking for signatures to force the LTDA to hold a SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING where a VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE can be taken on each individual CoM member, and to hold elections to form a new Council of Management.

WHAT IS NEEDED?

51% of the membership can force this SGM. That is around 5000-5500 Cab Drivers. Please sign this petition to show the LTDA that Members’ interests come first.
