Leave no Pensioner behind
The failure to maintain the Age Pension at a level that aligns to acceptable community living standards is a major contributor to poverty in Australia. It provides a standard of living below the poverty line for a group of Australians who contributed a lifetime towards building the nation. Obsolete statutory methods of calculating 6-monthly increases have made a major contribution towards sharp decline in the Pension's value, and this has contributed significantly to the rise in homelessness, malnutrition, other forms of lack of physical wellbeing, isolation, and mental health issues.
This must be addressed, and especially in conditions where the cost of living is increasing.
Age Pensioners are not a burden on society. They contribute an enormous amount of unpaid labour, as volunteer and carers. Without this, the economy would suffer greatly and all of Australia be made worse off. Age pensioners deserve to be rewarded for their contribution and to live the remainder of their lives in dignity.

We the undersigned call on the Australian government:
1. To take the first step is towards by increasing the dollar amount of the Base Pension Rate for single pension to $655 per week and the couple pensioner rate to $769 per week.
2. To ensure that Male Full-time Adult Ordinary Time Average Weekly Earnings, replace Male Total Average Weekly Earnings as the benchmark to align with community living standards.
3. That the single age pension base level be maintained at a minimum of 35% of that above standard and relativities,
4. To maintain the concept of six-monthly increases.
