Apples are the fruit of choice for Canadian children.
It is unacceptable that children be given apples which have been sprayed up to 20 times with different chemicals before harvest. Canadian children deserve to be protected from the ill effects of herbicides, fungicides and insecticides.
I propose a change to the Ontario Apple Growers' motto: "an Ontario apple a day, the healthy way"
to
"a pesticide-free Ontario apple a day is the healthy way"
Since Ontario is a major producer of apples in our country, I suggest that Ontario Apple Growers (OAG) lead the way in producing pesticide-free apples for the health of Canadian children.
