Based on the tragic & senseless event in Newtown, CT on Friday, December 14th 2012, We The People as passionate peoples, parents, grandparents & loved ones of innocent lives around us, band together. Regardless of ethnicity, religion, political & personal backgrounds, we intend to work together to ensure this violent attack is never again successful within our schools on defenseless & innocent children. Change starts with one - you and I. Nothing ever changes until We The People rise up in unity & passion to force change. Will you join us?

This unilateral petition is based on the complete overhaul of school security measures including disaster planning, forcing increased security, changes in access to schools from potential threats & increased awareness of weaknesses in current safety measures in our schools now. It is our belief that if one deranged young adult can cause this much destruction on his own, that any domestic or international terror group can easily duplicate this attack with more destruction unless we overhaul the security of our children immediately.

Our petition is not based on personal opinions or 2nd amendment rights discussions but rather a unified & proactive plan of showing our support for the parents who lost their dear, sweet children in Newtown. It is our will that no school or group of parents ever experience this again the best we can deter this. Therefore, We The People, petition the President of our United States of America, Mr. Barack Obama, to hear our voices & heed our call: Mr. President, we simply want the same protection for our children as you have for yours to the degree that we can accomplish this nationwide:

1. We call for bullet proof glass and/or wire mesh on all glass entry/access points to deny access and/or delay access until law enforcement can arrive. This is based on stopping access of individuals or groups attempting to gain quick access into our schools. We understand what transpired in Newtown where shooter gained access to school office/our children through unprotected plate window glass of office.

2. We call for increased security patrol at all school campuses by law enforcement during schools hours and ask for consideration of allotment of state or federal funds to place an armed security officer within every school, be it on duty, off duty or private security officer(s). It is our belief as parents, that the annual cost of having a minimum of one security officer per school is easily offset by moving less important things around within the annual budget allowances. What is the cost of security vs. a child’s life?

3. We ask for overhaul of current security measures & increased teacher/student drills to ensure quicker & more effective lock down's on potential threatening situations. We ask for better classroom access security on interior doors for when a lock down occurs. Our children & teachers must be able to securely lock themselves within their classroom & buy time until law enforcement is able to remove the threat.

We understand there are challenges within these three requests but we push forward in unified petition for if we do nothing, we know we only have ourselves to blame the next time a threat occurs. We must be proactive & work together to ensure this never happens again to the best of our abilities for the sake of our children & in memory of the lives lost in Newtown.

We passionately stand in unity,

We The People of The United States of America

We The People, as concerned patriots, parents & citizens of these United States of America - call on our government to completely reform school safety measures, better preparation for future hazards & increased security procedures within our schools nationwide. We are not willing to sit back & watch as this happens again - be it the result of a deranged individual, domestic terrorism or international terrorism.

This unilateral petition is based on the need for complete overhaul of current school security measures including disaster planning, forcing increased security, changes in access to schools from future potential threats & increased awareness of weaknesses in current safety measures within our schools now.

It is our will that no school or group of parents ever experience this again the best we can deter this.

Therefore, We The People, petition the President of our United States of America, to hear our voices & heed our call: Mr. President, we simply want the same relative protection for our children as you have for yours to the degree that we can accomplish this nationwide:
