Target:
Translink and the BC Government
Region:
Canada

I'm sure I'm far from the only person in the GVRD that is tired of inhaling second hand smoke while waiting for buses or going in and out of skytrain stations. While Translink has a clearly posted policy stating that there is no smoking allowed on Translink vehicles or properties, an astounding number of people clog up the bus shelters, doorways and walkways of skytrain stations smoking.

It is not fair that those of us who choose not to smoke are being forced to breathe in carcinogenic fumes while we take public transit in order to save the environment and our pocket books in an increasingly uncertain global economy and society.

Please send this to friends and neighbours, let's encourage the public to speak up like the residents and parks board of Vancouver did, and hopefully we'll make an impact!!!

We believe that Translink should be enforcing its No Smoking on Translink Vehicles or Properties policy.

Not smoking is a responsible choice both for health and the environment and our rights and freedoms should not be violated by those that would inflict carcinogenic fumes on themselves and others around them.

Please send this on to as many people as possible.

Thank you.
