The Palo Duro canyon is the second largest canyon in the world, second only to the Grand Canyon. It was home to the Comanche Indians. The mackinzie raid, one of the last great battles with the indians happened here. It is important habitat for all types of wildlife.
It is the least developed and most unique places in our area. There are several better alternative routes for this transmission line.
This petition is to protect all of Palo Duro Canyon. Not just the north part. There are several proposed routes for the transmission lines. Several of these proposed routes are through the Palo Duro Canyon. There is another petition that is just for the north Palo Duro Canyon.
This petition Is for the whole Palo Duro Canyon.
The undersigned call on the Texas Legislature to stop the proposed routes through all of the Palo Duro Canyon.
