We, the undersigned, find and determine that the attire worn by students often distracts them from academic achievement, the primary purpose of attending school.
It is the belief that the adoption of a mandatory uniform policy will reduce distractions and disruptions caused by clothing, make economic disparites between students less obvious, promote student achievement and create an orderly learning environment.
This mandatory uniform policy is an important step toward achieving consistency with Prince Georges County School System-wide Student Dress Code - Administrative Procedure # 5152 and Goal Four of The Quality Schools Program Strategic Plan - "All students will be educated in learning environments that are safe, drug-free and conducive to learning".
