Due to the introduction of the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005 on 1st September 2009, the Edinburgh City Council Licensing Board has ruled that drinks purchased after 10pm may not be drunk in the Outhouse beer garden.

The reason for this decision given by the Licensing Board is to "prevent public nuisance", one of the objectives of the new licensing act.

We believe that allowing our patrons to drink in the beer garden past 10pm, as they have been able to for the past 12 years or so, would not cause additional public nuisance.

Not only is the beer garden an important part of our business but also the main feature of the Outhouse which has been enjoyed by many and seems a reasonable amenity for a bar in cosmopolitan capital city.

We intend to appeal the Licensing Boards' decision and would like to gather support via this epetition for that appeal.

Thank you for taking the time to sign this petition.

We, the undersigned, request that The City of Edinburgh Council Licensing Board grant the major variation application made by The Outhouse to include the beer garden within their licensed premises.
