The Cincinnati VA Medical Center, on 5 North, are against the NOD’s decision to force them to wipe down already used gowns, and their re-use with other patients. This decision, not only does jeopardize patient care, it also exposes RNs and non-RNs’, their families and the population at large, to COVID 19.
In addition, staff on 5 North are being assigned as many as to 6 patients, thereby compromising the quality of care.
Furthermore, staff on 7 North have no access to PPEs. When they call SPD, their calls remain unanswered. Similarly to 5 North, lack of PPEs jeopardizes 7 North staff safety, the safety of their patients, their families and the public at large.
PETITION AGAINST UNSAFE WORKING CONDITIONS
We, The Registered Nurses at The Cincinnati VA Medical Center, on 5 North and 7 North, are against the lack of PPEs.
On 5 North, the NOD’s decision to force us to wipe down already used gowns, and their re-use with other patients.
On 7 North, we have made made numerous calls to SPD, but our calls have gone unanswered.
This decision, not only does jeopardize patient care, it also exposes RNs and non-RNs’, their families and the population at large, to COVID 19.
In addition, staff on 5 North are being assigned as many as to 6 patients, thereby compromising the quality of care.
We, therefore, request that these dangerous decisions be immediately rescinded, and that all RNs be given unused gowns and N-95 masks, and be provided with optimal staffing in order to safely care for our veterans and protect ourselves, and the population at large.
