Recently, the Massachusetts Supreme Court has ruled that civil unions for homosexual, bisexual, lesbian, transgendered couples are not enough and that a same-sex marriage is, in fact, constitutional.
In reaction to this, President Bush is planning on sending an amendment to congress that will ban gay marriages in the Constitution. He will try to say that marriage is to be between a man and a woman only, thus crushing same-sex marriages every homosexual, bisexual, lesbian, transgendered individuals should have a right to.
Our founding fathers envisioned a land of equal rights for all and now, the government is trying to kill that vision by discriminating against homosexual, bisexual, lesbian, transgendered individuals. And why do they do this? For one simple fact, they want to get the votes to stay in office. All of these religious groups and groups against homosexual, bisexual, lesbian, transgendered individuals are lobbying against same-sex marriages and since their voices are loud, the government must listen in order to get re-elected. The times have changed and homosexual, bisexual, lesbian, transgendered individuals must now be heard.
Please, sign the petition below to stop the bans on gay marriages and let the government know that the homosexual, bisexual, lesbian, transgendered community are not going to stand for this anymore!!
We, the undersigned, ask that you recognize all people were created equally. That you put an end to biased and discriminatory practices, and that you put an end to your quest for banning gay marriages through carefully worded amendments to the US Constitution.
We ask that you uphold our God given right to be treated equally under the laws of this land and allow homosexual, bisexual, lesbian, transgendered individuals the right to marry like any other American. We the people DO have a voice and we will not accept and allow our government to get away with this.
We ask that you keep our country free and equal, as our founding fathers envisioned and stop this discrimination against homosexual, bisexual, lesbian, transgendered individuals immediately.
