Target:
Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela
Region:
Venezuela

I came to Venezuela on March 9 and 4 or 5 days later a National Quarantine started. I live in Canada with my family. I had a job, which I lost because of the impossibility to go back home. I came to rescue and help my 87 year old mother who lives alone and suffered an accident and needed hip replacement. I have been waiting patiently for the last 6 months to pick up my moms renewal paperwork, which is ready to be pick up at the SAIME office (passport office) but they remain closed. My mom is coming back home to visit until the high risk period of COVID-19 in Venezuela is over.
Is September now, and as I watch other countries in the world open their airports I can only wonder why is my Government not opening SAIME - the Passport Office- and the Airport for people to travel freely Nationally and Internationally. Many countries have adjusted their airports and travel regulations, why can´t we?. I feel stranded, trapped and I feel my human rights are being violated.
Please help me and many other Venezuelans who need to travel by signing this petition.

We, the undersign, call on the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela - Maduro´s Government - to open the SAIME (passport office) and the National and International Airport.
