The Bank branch of the Northern line will be closed between Kennington and Moorgate, from Saturday 15 January 2022 to mid-May 2022. Trains will run less frequently on those sections of the Bank branch that are still open.
Transport for London advises people "to use other Tube, rail, bus, walking and cycling routes when the closure is in place."
But TfL will not provide any alternative rail replacement bus services from Clapham or Stockwell along the route of the closed Northern line.
This is not good enough, particularly for the large numbers of local residents who use the route for their commute, and for those relying on public transport for safe trips at night.
TfL should provide additional mitigation during these 5 months of closure, including rail replacement bus services from Clapham and Stockwell to and from the City.
We, the undersigned, call on Transport for London to do more to assist residents during the closure of the Northern Line between Kennington and Moorgate from January to May 2022.
This should include rail replacement bus services from Clapham and Stockwell along the route of the closed Northern line during these 5 months of disruption.
