The alleyway is in poor condition and has become a dumping ground for others in the vicinity. There is trash along the alleyway which has included sofas, tree debris, and shopping carts.
There is constant graffiti paint on fences. After hours and the lack of light gives perfect opportunity for criminal activity.
We, the residents of Normandy Isles in the City of Miami Beach are petitioning for a paved alleyway along with light poles. This alleyway runs East and West parallel to Normandy Drive and 71st Street.
The alleyway allows for our garbage pick up yet it has also become a dumping ground for others in the vicinity to dump trash. The alleyways current condition is unacceptable and does not meet Miami Beach standards.
It gives the appearance of living in the "hood" which brings along criminal activities such as illegal dumping, loitering and prowling, and criminal mischief which can then lead to more serious crimes. Therefore, this alleyway needs to be paved and lighted.
