The Lake Stevens Hall of Fame is located at Lake Stevens High School and currently features sixteen enshrinees. Members include actor Chris Pratt, Legendary Pac-10 coach Marv Harshman and a list of influential teachers, athletes, community leaders and activists who've graduated from Lake Stevens High School.
Dustin and Mitch Canham are both recent graduates of LSHS.
Dustin, a U.S. Marine, died in the line of duty last month while deployed in Africa. He was 21 years of age.
Mitch, 23, was a star athlete at LSHS and earned a baseball scholarship to Oregon State, where he captained the Beavers to two College World Series Championships. He was selected by the San Diego Padres in the second round of last year's draft, and was invited to big league camp for this year's Spring Training.
Both Canhams are exceptional individuals whose personal skills and excellent attitudes far outpace their respective achievements. They are ideal candidates for the Lake Stevens Hall of Fame.
We, the undersigned, respectfully call on the nominating board of the Lake Stevens Hall of Fame to begin preparations to induct Mitch and Dustin Canham to the HOF.
The Canham brothers have proven themselves to be individuals of the highest caliber and moral fiber. We believe they deserve immediate enshrinement in the Lake Stevens Hall of Fame.
