How come with all this road safety crackdowns, improvements etc etc adds on telly etc are we still having to pay VAT on the likes of Helmets?

There's no VAT on Helmets in the UK. Does that mean they care more about their bikers' safety over there than they do here?

Makes you sick doesn't it you know the ad on telly the bike going down the country road and then the girl feeding the baby and the hubby, and then you go into a shop to buy a new lid cause the add scared the fook out of someone at home and then you have 21% VAT on it, Hi vis vests, L plates, penalty points etc load of b***ox show us you care drop the vat off lids and any approved protective motorcycle clothing.

If road safety is a issue the government are trying to solve, start by making motorcycle safety equipment VAT free so we can all afford high quality protective clothing and helmets, which saves lives and serious injuries in the event of an accident ....

We the undersigned call on the Irish Government to rethink their current views on the VAT on motorcycle safety equipment.

Helmets Protective clothing and tyres are the most vital part of safety to a motorcyclist.

And for this reason these items should be VAT free!!
