Dear University of Alberta students,

The University administration is proposing an escalated tuition increase in order to offset the projected budget deficit, and to correct some "market disparities". The expected increase in tuition fee for existing and new graduate students would be 15% for 2010-2011 which will increase for new students by 50% for 2011-2012 and 85% for 2012-2013.

At the CMEGSA we believe that increase in tuition fee will affect the standard of living of students, discourage high-caliber students from applying to graduate school, and make the university less competitive globally.

CMEGSA

We the undersigned stand against the proposed tuition fee increase.

We demand that University of Alberta management not raise the tuition fee and we denounce any such increase as obstructive to educational accessibility and academic performance.
