On Aug 14, 2017 two mining companies (Maxwell International Holdings Berhad a Malaysia based companyand Global Mining and Agrictultural Ventures Corporation a Philippine based company signed a Memorandum of Understanding to extract nickle ores in San Fernando, Romblon. If the nickle mining will push through, it will greatly affect not just the town of San Fernando but the entire island of Sibuyan.
We, the undersigned, call the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Office of the President of the Philippines to stop any form of MINING in Sibuyan Island.
