Ausgrid is proposing to put in a telecommunications tower directly next to the Gymea Bay Public School (which has over 800 students).
The tower will be situated directly behind the Before and After school Care Centre (also on school grounds). There is also soccer, cricket, scouts and netball clubs on the same field where the tower is to be placed. The soccer club is the biggest in the Sutherland Shire.
Ausgrid have now advised the organisers of this petition they contacted 150 residents in the surrounding area who may be affected. We have also been advised the date has been extended until the end of April. This a great outcome so far but our job is not finished yet.
There are over 800 students that attend Gymea Bay Public School and 1400 registered players at the soccer club alone. We are talking about thousands of young people that may be exposed to the harmful effects of this tower. Time is limited, please show your support by signing this petition today.
We, the undersigned, register our objection to the proposed radio communications facility being installed at the Gymea Bay Oval, Gymea Bay Road.
This facility is not wanted in or around the Gymea Bay Public School and its immediate surroundings.
