Although Presidential debates have become a standard part of the election season, they don't make sense this year, when no one should be travelling. Joe Biden needs to know that voters won't consider him afraid to debate if he declines, he is simply making the most rational decision in the circumstances.
There is no possibility of discussing the issues in any meaningful way, and Trump hardly needs more media exposure. Even if Trump is determined to ignore common-sense safety measures, there is no reason why Biden should.
We believe there can be no meaningful debate with a pathological liar. We urge Biden to decline to give Trump yet more media exposure, to no possible benefit -- and considerable health risks -- to himself.
