Who doesn't like chocolate? Typically, a chocolate bar costs only 1000 won, and can be found almost everywhere. But the truth is that children around our age - and younger! - sacrifice their freedom and childhood working in cocoa farms, and oftentimes, they didn't even want to.

Millions of children are forced to work long hours in the cocoa industry in order for us to enjoy chocolates such as Toblerone, M&Ms, and Snickers. When you eat a Snicker bar during break time, you most likely just enjoy it. But now, you may realize that while you are enjoying this delicious and sweet chocolate, thousands of children who should be going to school are working in harsh environments for more than 12 hours to produce your bars. Is this right? For anyone with a sense of integrity, the answer should be "No!".

So please, sign this petition to remove Snickers from the CI Student Council snack bar and take your first step in stopping the Hershey company, Mars, Inc., and other chocolate manufacturers from using child labor cocoa in their bars.

I, as a CI student, call on the Student Council to cease the sale of Snickers at the CI Student Council snack bar.

In addition, I also ask the student council to not sell any chocolates that use child labor in the future, and to consider selling fair trade chocolates instead.
