Borel Middle School is making students take Spanish as a mandatory class. No one really had a choice to agree with it or not, so my friends and I decided to make a petition online.
We thought that the students should have a choice because others we have spoken with do not agree, because some already know Spanish, just want to learn a different language or can't do another wheel in 8th grade because of music and have to do Spanish instead of something else that they had planned to do.
We understand the importance of learning this language, but we think we should at least have a choice to learn this language or not.
We, the people associated with Borel, call on Borel Middle School to not have the students take Spanish as a mandatory class.
