There has been an increase in gun violence In our community ranging in all ages.
In My perspective this has to do with how easy it is to obtain a legal firearm there are not extensive checks to make sure individuals are mentally and physically able to use a firearm. Let us not forget the easily obtained illegal firearms which are used so commonly it's become a norm.
One of the most recent events was a shooting of a young boy by the name of Justin Wallace who was leaving his aunt's house when he was fatally shot.
He was going to be turning 11 but because of a decision, someone made ending his life that he would never get toexerpence .
In long island in west Hampstead another shooting where Gabriel DeWitt Wilson opened fire in April. In colorado in a supermarket when a gunman by the name of Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa, 22. He gun downed 10 people including a police officer.
We the citizens of the United States need to be kept safe and protected.
We should be able to see our younger generations live, strive, and succeed here.
Right now our world, our humanity, our knowledge, and or our empathy for human beings should be exceeded. We should be holding open arms to help one other.
unfortunately, that is not the case some mentally ill or negligent citizens use and abuse their right to a firearm. This includes some citizens who have access to illegal firearms. We the people need to insists on more control over the use and access to firearms.
We are asking that there should be a lengthy background check and mental health check for persons inquiring to process a firearm as well as persons in the household. We are asking for a more hands-on approach to tracking the selling and use of illegal/legal firearms. In the united states possessing a firearm should not be as easy as buying candy.
We the people are asking for restraint with our community to keep it safe.
. We want to be able to feel protected as our government officials feel at night knowing they are protected and safe from things regular U.S citizens are forced to deal with on a daily basis. We want to be able to go to bed at night knowing that our families and children will see the sunrise in the morning and sunsets in the evening. We want to live to see our children's high graduation, see our parents grow old to see their children and grandchildren. Every breathing person in our world is valuable no matter how much money is in their accounts.
So we as a community are asking that our government show us action and show us you we put you in those chairs to make a positive change.
