The Iowa Falls school board is considering a fake turf for the shared football field with Ellsworth Community College. The estimate for this project is 1.5 million, where the Iowa Falls school district will supply $500k, Ellsworth will supply $500k, and the additional $500k will be raised through Ellsworth fundraising efforts. While new things are always nice, they are not always necessary. If our elected school board members can't say no to each other, we community members need to start saying "no" to excessive spending. We live in a small town, population 5,128. While we are able to enjoy many benefits that come from living in a small town, there are also some things that we simply just have to learn to live without and be content. Contentment means making the best with what you've got. We all have to do it. We cannot continue to throw millions of dollars at miniscule problems in this community. We have parents struggling to feed their children, clearly higher on the list of concerns than the luxury of a fake turf football field. Join me in having your voice heard, together we can show these decision makers what we, the community members, want for our community.

We, the undersigned, call onto the Iowa Falls School Board to decide "no" on the proposition of a fake turf football field.
