There is a development application for a caravan park at 19726 Kamilaroi Highway, Narrabri (74 Wee Waa Rd). This is a rural zoned land, and has been used as a floodway for decades. Building up this land to raise the development above flood level will remove this floodway, causing untold damage to the surrounding homes and farmland.

The zoning in the Local Environment Plan does not allow for "commercial premises," and also specifically states that a caravan park in this zone MUST have major road frontage of not less than 200m. This site has approx 30m of road frontage to the highway.

It will also have detrimental effects on the existing accommodation businesses in Narrabri, and due to its location just west of the industrial area, will not enhance visitors opinions of Narrabri at all.

We, the undersigned, call upon Narrabri Shire Council to reject the development application DA 474/2013.

It contravenes the Local Environment Plan under which it was lodged, and will cause local flooding, among other concerns.

It will be detrimental to businesses and families already established in Narrabri.

The No Caravan Park on Wee Waa Rd petition to Narrabri Shire Council was written by Susan Sargent and is in the category City & Town Planning at GoPetition.
