The Town of Appalachia is in need of a Director of Parks and Recreation to facilitate remodeling the Civic Center, Swiming pool, Create playgrounds, clean up existing Island Park grounds and rest rooms.
This will enable our children to have a safer and more appropriate environment in which to play.
We, the undersigned, would like to petition the Town of Appalachia to elect a new Director of Parks and Recreation or Create a Parks and Recreation Director.
We feel this is much needed to allow our children better facilities for play. We need the Civic Center remodeled with a new roof and new floor. The swimming pool needs lots of repairs and cleaner changing rooms and restrooms. The kitchen area in the civic center and at the pool need to be remodeled. The restrooms at Island Park need to be repaired and secure locks on the doors for privacy.
We feel in order to make this dream a reality we must have a director that will see the job gets done. For this reason we would like to see Mrs. Cindy Thompson as the new Director of Parks and Recreation. We feel she has already made a difference in the financial collections since she has been managing the pool. Therefore we are petitioning the Town of Appalachia to act on this request as soon as possible. Our children are Worth It!
