An Interview with a person, Colin Smith-81 yrs old, who has shared very disturbing facts about his struggles to get Nepali citizenship despite the fact he is living there for 52 years, did extensive research on butterflies in Nepal, taught many students and entered Nepal in a humanataria cause through the United Nations, this frail old man still smlies, still travels miles in a public transportation to renew his visa and still doesnt stop saying he loves people of Nepal. His last wish is to be cremeted and his ash been thrown in a seti river in pokhara Nepal. He deserves a Nepali citizenship.

Colin Smith, 81, aka Putali Bajey ( Butterfly Grandfather ) is a British National who has been living in Nepal since last 52 years. He came to Nepal at the age of 29 through UN Programme and has taught in Nepali schools. His student lists inscludes but are not limited to Dr. Baburam Bhattarai and Dr. Upendra Devkota.

Currently he resides alone in a small cottage in Pokhara, Nepal. He spends most of his time sleeping. He is very frail but still prefers to stay in Nepal. He has had 4 different tyes of surgeries. His only wish is to get a citizenship as a Nepali and when he dies he wishes to be cremeted and his ashes be thrown in Seti River Pokhara Nepal. In order to stay in Nepal he has to travel from Pokhara to Kathmandu and renew his visa which itself is so heart wrenching to think about for such an old man. Despite the odds and physical limitations he has been following Nepali Immigration laws and has been renwing his visas till date.

He has done an extensive research on different species of butterflies and have managed to collect around 500 plus varierties of butterflies in various parts of Nepal. He has written about 7-8 books on butterflies in Nepal. His books on Butterfliesin Nepal definitely holds good things about Nepal as well as other butterfly lovers must have had visited Nepal to see different species.
He loves Nepal. It was intolerable or me to stop my tears watching Putali baje talking about Nepal in Gandaki Telivision interview on Youtube in Falano TV channel. Despite all these physical and mental hassels he has been facing he still has a smile on his face and he even added the best thing he loves about Nepal are the people.

This is a voice and a plea to the Government of Nepal and The Department of Immigration Nepal to please kindly grant him with Nepali citizenship. Putali Baje deserves this and it should be an honour for Nepal to have Putali Bajey as one of the Nepali Citizens.

My humble request to all the people around the world to please support my petition.

Thanking you Kindly
