New River Power and Light does not provide the option of buying GreenPower. Buying GreenPower means you are buying electricity generated from a renewable resource such as wind, solar, biomass, or hydro. Every month $4 would be added to your bill for every 100 kilowatt-hours of green power you would choose to purchase.
Just buying one $4 block a month for a year would offset 2497 pounds of carbon dioxide (CO2). This reduction in CO2 emmisions would be equivalent to 192 trees planted or 3039 miles not driven or 73 days not driven. For more information go to: ncgreenpower.org*
