An item that has been cut from many budgets is the mowing of the grass along the various highways. The issue that is seen is that the grass now grows to various heights and is not allowing people to see animals that emerge onto the highways.
All vehicles are at risk of striking these animals, but as a motorcycle enthusiast, no one is more vulnerable than a rider. With the ditches mowed back animals are easier to spot especially in the night time.
We, the undersigned, are asking for the county and municipalities to maintain the grass along the highways on a regular basis, no matter of the cost, with the result being a safer roadway.
The height of maintained grass should not exceed 1.5 feet.
