As a high school student it can be incredibly difficult to find a schedule that you like. Often times you have to make some form of compromise, which can be very disappointing and often decides a student's future.

As you can imagine, this can make high school seem very unfair, and turns a student's schedule into proverbial course roulette. Why even bother doing course selections when it doesn't even seem to matter for many students. This is especially bad for students going into grade 12 as many non-math and non-science university level courses are cancelled or are only offered in one period, limiting the amount of students that can take the class to around 32 people despite the amount of people signed up for said course.

This is a huge slap in the face to university bound students interested in the humanities, especially since they are normally forced to take mixed level classes. For those who don't know, most universities don't want to see any more than one mixed class. In fact, some universities like McGill don't even acknowledge mixed courses whatsoever, meaning a student's post-secondary education can come down to simple luck. This is blatantly unacceptable.

We, the undersigned, call on Riverdale Collegiate Institute to commit more teachers to classes for university level courses.
