More Playgrounds Tweed Shire

As parents (grandparents and carers), we are forced to drive over state lines to over crowded parks for our children to play in a safe, secure and well maintained playground.

Outdoor play is vital for a child’s learning, creativity, physical health and well-being.

Once the petition has received enough signatures I will take it to our local Member of Council who can then present our concerns (along with the petition) at the next Council meeting.

The Benefits of having a park close to home for our children is greatly advised by many Doctors along with our current government. Having parks within the area is will create an environment for our children to participate in games, learning, social skills and more importantly FUN! Without parks close to our homes it gives the children none of the above, instead we as parents are forced to travel to our neighbouring state of Queensland.

“There are three types of outdoor play, backyard play, playground play and wild nature play. Backyard unstructured, free play allows children to use their imaginations whilst building dexterity and physical strength.

The playground is the best place for children to take advantage of open spaces and fine tune their motor skills by being physical and adventurous. They can freely practise running, climbing, swinging, jumping and learn ball handling skills such as throwing and catching.”
