Michael Jackson, the legendary King of Pop has broken boundaries world wide as a singer, dancer, and entertainer. Through his group (Jackson 5), solo, and family work, he became one of the few artists to have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice. He was also inducted into the Dance Hall of Fame as the first (and currently only) dancer from the world of pop and rock 'n' roll. Jackson's other achievements include 39 Guinness World Records—including one for "Most Successful Entertainer of All Time"—13 Grammy Awards, along with special awards the Grammy Legend and Grammy Lifetime, 26 American Music Awards, 16 World Music Awards and the estimated sale of up 1 billion units worldwide. Winning countless awards for his humanitarian endeavors, the singer has been honored by two Presidents of the United States. He has also been named as the artist of "the Decade", "Generation", "Century", and "Millennium" and was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2002. Jackson has also won hundreds of other awards, making him the most awarded recording artist in the history of popular music. He has influenced people across the world as people mimic his dance moves and fashion along with his high pitched vocals.
Besides being an extraordinaire performer, Michael Jackson was a philanthropist that donated millions of dollars to help impoverished and ill people. In 2006 during World Music awards it was comfirmed that he donated $300 million to charity . But now it is approx $500 million . Cause his earning is still going to several charities which he support throughout his lifetime . He holds the Guinness world record for donated maximum amount of money as an entertainer .
He used his influence to promote world peace and to stop hatred. No recording artist to date has accomplished or broke the records that Michael Jackson has, He created his own lane and even in death, he is the only person that drives in it. For these reasons Michael Jackson deserves a national holiday.

We, the undersigned, call Congress to declare without hesitation August 29th Michael Jackson Day. Let this day be a day of remembrance of the art and humanitarian works Michael Jackson has imprinted in our lives.
