We want everyone to be able to afford a place of their own. Local waiting lists for housing are growing with around 3000 households registered in Carrick.
The credit crunch is already causing delays to some new housing developments planned to include affordable homes in Truro and Falmouth.
We are calling on local councils in Cornwall to make meeting the need for affordable homes their top priority.
It is possible for councils to require developers to make more than one in three new homes affordable and we think they should do so here.
Local councils can also use their powers under the new Sustainable Communities Act to come up with local solutions to housing needs, and we think they should do so.
Hosted by Gopetition, promoted by Angela Barton, on behalf of Truro and Falmouth Labour Party, both at Flat 2, 16 North Parade, Falmouth, TR11 2TD.
