My husband and I have been married for two years, and have been trying to conceive for two years. We had an IUI that was unsuccessful. The doctor said with my age that time is crucial and we need to go onto IVF.
The problem is that we cannot afford the $12,000.00 to have it done and it isn't covered by our insurance. We really want children of our own and are hoping that laws can change that allows us to achieve our dream.
We would like to see mandatory insurance coverage for infertility. Being able to conceive is a god given right that everybody should be able to experience. With the high cost it is almost impossible to achieve without help.
Infertility affects the nation as a whole. You never know who you would be not allowing to be born-the next cure for a disease or president. Who has the right to say who can have children and who cannot?
