Currently, there is no existing law that mandates cell phone coverage in Arthur City and its surrounding areas including Pat Mayse Lake.
Not only is this issue making it difficult for local businesses to stay afloat due to lack of cell phone coverage, this could also result in the unnecessary loss of life. When you call 911-Emergency Response from a cell phone in our local area, it forwards to Hugo, Oklahoma.
Hugo will not transfer the call to Texas, nor will they send their emergency response teams into Texas to assist you, emergency or not. Due to us being nearly 15 miles (Some of us farther) outside of Paris as well as us having Pat Mayse Lake so nearby, we would like you to stand up and request to receive mandated cell phone coverage in the Arthur City and surrounding areas so we can finally have access to the emergency services we require as well as proper cell phone coverage for the local population.
Not every one has a land-line!
If you sign this petition you will be in agreement that Arthur City and its surrounding areas, including Pat Mayse Lake needs better cell phone coverage in order to make emergency phone calls if something were to happen away from your Land-Line.
