This is going to be a conservation side of the debate and how are we going to deal with this..
Was chatting with someone who has knowlege of the legal/illegal side of it,law wise! Put it to them in this aspect, the hook set on a jawjacker is 98%,tipups is less,don’t know how much,but how many times you hook them on a tip up they swallow it! Now take into the fact that now you’ve hooked a illegal fish,don’t care what it is,it’s illegal,now you take your hook out,fish is bleeding badly now you have to release it,it dies! Dead,not worth anything but fish food,you just killed a fish on a legal device!
Now let’s talk jawjacker or what you want to call them,fish Trips release,hook sets,you bring it in,it’s hooked in the lip,the illegal fish you just caught is safely released to live and grow,be caught another day by some other angler!my device is ethically and conservation minded!
Some people don’t like them!don’t care why,but in my eyes and quite a few others I’ve talk to they agree with me! They are doing a good justice to our sports in the terms of illegal fish release safely back into the wild as the summary says to do!
We all need to do this! Don’t sit on your asses and do nothing about it!
