Game of Thrones has become an international, impactful pop culture phenomenon the likes of very few fantasy series have ever attained. With the recent airing of the sixth season finale, the show's creators have stated that their intention all along was to finish the series within a 75-hour timeframe. With 60 hours already aired, this leaves two very short (6-8 episode arc) seasons remaining.

The popularity of this series is due not only in part to the wonderful world which has been created (thank you George R.R. Martin!), but also to the masterful storytelling techniques of the creators (David Benioff and D.B. Weiss) and the amazing performances of the brilliant cast.

The fans have come to adore the characters, and it seems only fitting that instead of doling the remainder of the series piecemeal and breaking the emotive momentum that builds during it, that the creators should take the extra time for filming and editing to broadcast the series finale in one extended season. To detach the audience for such long periods of time seems to belittle the underlying powerful story.

We, the undersigned, call on HBO, the Game of Thrones author, creators and cast to pursue the course of action to broadcast the series finale of Game of Thrones as one extended season. If this means delaying the next season to take the extra time for location scouting, filming, editing and CGI, so be it.

We believe that airing the final episodes as one extended season will further engross the audience emotionally, give even more credence that HBO delivers the best entertainment experience in the world and, most importantly, deliver the finale the way it is meant to be.
