It has come to my attention that Merkinch primary have gone from being a zero tolerance to violence school to allowing children to be violent towards another without properly addressing the issues!
It used to be that if a child was to preform an "act of violence" towards another pupil wether it be pushing, kicking, hitting etc they would be spoken to be the teachers, have there break and lunch time revoked and also would lose the right to be allowed to get a award at the end of term.
The rules now allow the child to still be entitled to the awards as they believe ever child should get a second chance however any form of violence should be zero tolerance within schools and help children behaving in inappropriate ways to their fellow pupils to understand that this is unacceptable at anytime.
Please sign this petition to return zero tolerance to acts of violence in Merkinch School and make the school a safer school for our children to attend.
