Sheep get hot and cold just like us. Stripping them off their fleece in or leading up to winter is cruel, as is not shearing them in the lead up to summer. Imagine being unbearably hot and/or cold day in, day out...
Shearing sheep in spring is the most humane time, allowing them their needed fleece in the colder months and allowing their coat to grow enough to keep them cool and protect them from the sun in the warmer months.
Please sign to make it compulsory for sheep to be shorn only in Spring, to keep them warm in winter and cool in Summer.
