Make Benbrook HWY 377 /Grandbury 377 into a school zone in front of Benbrook Middle-High School

The speed limit in front of Benbrook Hwy 377 in front of Benbrook Middle High School is currently 55 mph. The entrance and exit to dropping kids off at Benbrook Middle-High School is onto Overcrest Drive. When exiting the school traffic is often backed up trying to exit the middle school. Turning onto Benbrook Hwy 377 off of Overcrest Drive is very difficult and dangerous. At a speed limit of 55 mph it is very difficult to safely pull out onto Benbrook 377 from the school.

On November 19, 2015 at 8:10 AM I pulled out from Overcrest drive onto 377. When I pulled out traffic was clear but as I pulled out and had almost cleared the second lane cars were coming so fast at me that they could not stop and I was involved in a car accident. Thankfully no one was seriously injured but this could have been a very bad car accident. At a speed limit of 55 mph in front of the school this is very dangerous.

Because of the difficulty pulling out onto 377 it also causes traffic to back up even more onto Overcrest Dr. This is a middle high school and students will soon be driving themself to school. I want to know that my student and other students will be safe. I am asking the City of Benbrook and the Benbrook Police Department to please consider creating Benbrook 377 in front of Benbrook Middle-High School into a school zone.

I also believe that a red light at the intersection of Overcrest Dr and Benbrook Hwy 377 would be beneficial as well. If The Middle Level Learning Center,4921 Benbrook Hwy, Benbrook, TX 76116, is a school zone then so should Benbrook HWY 377 in front of Benbrook Middle High School be a school zone as well.
