Fairview Road in Barrie is NOT safe for the kids who work at the OnRoute! There is no bus stop and kids are forced to walk along the dangerous narrow road and dangerous bend to get from the closest bus stop on Little Avenue or Bayview Drive. This road is dangerous and known for speeding.
A month ago a car flipped on Fairview in front of the rear entrance to the OnRoute due to speeding. I have witnessed numerous pedestrians walk the bend barely avoiding being struck by oncoming vehicles.
This is NOT safe and I would like to petition to make these changes before a tragedy happens. As a parent of two teenagers that have gained employment at the OnRoute I worry that on the days when my children can't get a ride and are forced to walk that dangerous road that an accident/tragedy could easily occur.
I propose a bus stop in place as well as creating a safe pedestrian walkway along the dangerous bend.
