Shearwater Steiner School at Mullumbimby are seeking to make use of the unused railway line between Mullumbimby and Byron Bay to ride an invention that allows bicycles to travel safely between the two destinations.
The LocoBike, invented by Julio Mottola and Michael Albert, has been donated to the Shearwater School, to help promote sustainable transport.
The project will require the permission of State Rail and local government to allow access to the railway line that would otherwise go unused.
We the undersigned ask that State Rail and Byron Shire Council support this local sustainable transport initiative and allow the Shearwater Steiner School to ride the LocoBike on the existing unused train line.
Making use of existing resources for a new invention in sustainable transport will be proof of State Rail and Byron Shire Council's commitment to a sustainable future.
