Lift ban on the Conventioneers at Anime North

Purpose: Allow the Conventioneers to attend Anime North 2008

Who: Conventioneers. But who are they? As listed on (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Conventioneers), a team of two men including Matt Chin + Jason Agnew make up the Conventioneers. They travel to a plethora of conventions and film the fellow convention attendees dressed appropriately depending on the type of convention.

The videos are meant to entertain and poke harmless humor amongst fellow con-goers. The Conventioneers as they have been proclaimed have gathered a vast amount of fans, but those against them have created numerous obstacles that stand in the way of creating their passionate, humorous video clips that many adore.
A petition is out there already, asking to have them banned. This petition is made up of people who
-can't take a joke, nor have a sense of humor about themselves
-don't know the whole story
-had their feelings hurt, or are friends with someone whose feelings were hurt by the Conventioneers

What: This petition focuses on the Conventioneers' rough experience at Anime North 2007, a popular anime convention that takes place in Toronto, ON each May. Several cosplayers (those that attend the convention in costume) that are not fond of the pair have taken measures to get them banned from Anime North and unfortunately succeeded in doing so (with only a pitiful 100 signatures on their petition). This petition has been put together to submit to Anime North staff in hopes of lifting the ban placed on the Conventioneers.

Why: Numerous false assumptions and rumors are circulating the Internet regarding Matt and Jason's Anime North 2007 attendance, as well as discrepancies concerning their video clips (Anime North 2007 clips can be easily found on Youtube.com). Legal measures were properly followed as those that did not wish to be filmed (yet still insisted on willingly walking in front of the camera only to cause a scene) were blurred out and distorted. Furthermore, the Conventioneers are often bashed for making fun of cosplayers which by watching their videos, is clearly not true. Most times, they stand there silent while people make fools of THEMSELVES.

Those that are featured in their films chose to be recorded and were not approached; some recorded were humorous and if any viewers of the Conventioneers' clips make fun of the cosplayers, Matt and Jason can NOT be held accountable--they are simply enjoying their time at the convention and bringing some of their experience back with them for others to watch and enjoy.
For the record, Anime North's own webpage states:
"Please be aware as an attendee of Anime North that media representatives will be present at the con and may be filming at any time."

When: The next Anime North takes place on the last weekend in May 2008. That is plenty of time to build a successful petition and bring justice to the Conventioneers- for why should they not be allowed to attend?
